New Items for September 24, 2001

From the Principal's Desk

There will be a "voluntary" staff meeting at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, September 24 for anyone who is currently using or planning to use any of Brian Jonasse's instructional booklets. I will not authorize the use of these materials in your classroom unless you attend the meeting.

The fire inspector is due to visit our site again any time within the next couple of weeks to see if we have corrected our out-of-compliance issues. Please be sure you have nothing stored over the tops of cabinets, not more than 20% of your wall space is covered with paper, and nothing is obstructing access to fire extinguishers or electrical boxes. Compliance on these issues is critical.

New Items - September 21, 2001

Lately the phone ringers have been getting turned off. We are not sure how, either by custodians dusting or by students. Check them daily to make it easier for the office to contact you.

From the Principal's Desk
Deficiency Notices should go home in next Monday's envelope.
Thank you to those who have submitted them already. Needless to say, no one should have 'Candidate for possible retention' checked this early in the year.

Just a reminder that the following things were due to me today:
Daily Schedule
Discipline Policy
Homework Policy
Grading Policy
Substitute Plans

I'm sure you are holding your breath wondering when I'm going to ask for your lesson plans. I will not be collecting them this year. BUT I will expect to find them with standards coded on your desk when I visit classrooms.

VERY IMPORTANT - If you are entering or leaving campus after 7:00 p.m. please lock the gate behind you! Thanks.
