Yellow Ribbon Week
January 21-25 has been designated by the state as "Yellow Ribbon Week". Parents, students, teachers, other school personnel, and members of the community are encouraged to wear yellow ribbons to demonstrate a commitment to safe schools and to remember children who have lost their lives as a direct result of school violence.

 
Monday, January 21 there is no school as we observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

 
Dates to Remember
A State Teachers Retirement System Workshop will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. at Friendly Hills Elementary School Multipurpose Room.

There will be a Red Cross training session held at 8:00, Saturday, February 23 at Yucca Mesa Elementary school. It is an eight hour session and provides certification for CPR and First Aid. The cost is $35.00.
